Cuba

A cool hip downtown spot!

  • Great mojitos and sangria
  • Cool vibe
  • Cuban music

Cuba is located on a historic street in the Greenwich Village, reminiscent of many streets in Old Havana. It exudes the aroma and flavor of an authentic Cuban restaurant. The romantic milieu of Cuba effortlessly transports you from Manhattan to Havana. The rhythmic palpitations of salsa, son Cubano and the extraordinary sense of exotic dishes, permeate the air. Palms, wooden shutters, wrought iron light fixtures and photographs of "Havana" gives one the sense of being there. Cuba offers live music Thursday through Saturday. The menu is filled with delicious, traditional cuisine. With New York City's only authentic Cuban chef, the restaurant offers exquisite Cuban, Latin and Spanish dishes and the signature drinks, Mojito and Sangria are a must. New Yorkers have fallen in love with Latin food, music and culture. Cuba has them all under one roof.

Editorial Review for Cuba – by Justin Hartung

In Short
The West Village's revolutionary heyday may be long gone, but a different kind of party politics lives on at this Cuban restaurant. On the roster for debate: Should you dance first and work up an appetite for dishes like papas rellenas and ropa vieja, or salsa afterward to fight off the soporific effects of tres leches cake? Tropical plants, creamy white banquettes and brightly colored paintings of the motherland ensure the view will be splendid even during dance breaks.

Was here for a dinner with some girlfriends. We waited at the bar for our table and really felt that we were in a warm festive enviroment. The restaurant seemed small when we realized that there was a downstairs bar so we then waited there for our table downstairs we decided to eat some delishhhh appetizers. shrimp salad WOW!! Our table was then ready we enjoyed the Live music and this really good selection of specials that our waitress recommended. The staff was very sweet and the Manager helped us out in selecting a place to go salsa dancing afterwards which was very helpful to us. 4 out of 6 of us just decided we would give New Years @ Cuba a try can't wait!!!!!!

Pros: love service ,music food!

Cons: gotta make reservations we learned the hard way

Had a surprise birthday party for my husband last week.I was stressing out over details since my husband is Cuban and very particular but all i can say is that he had a smile from ear to ear.he loved the cigars the mojitos and his favorite dish his mother used to make ...vacca frita. I had a tres leche cake made especially for the party as the managers suggested and it was a amazing My husbands co workers all raved about this place and want to come back on their own. it is a bit crowded but we sat in a private room behind the bar. We will return!

Pros: Great food and music!

Cons: must make reservations

This West Village restaurant was serving mojitos and plantains long before Socialista turned Cuban food into props for supermodels.  See the full editorial review.
